Understanding the eBay VeRO Compliance Warning

When pushing products from Sell The Trend to eBay, you may occasionally see an eBay VeRO Compliance Warning.

This warning is designed to help you avoid listing products that may violate eBay’s Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program.

What Is the eBay VeRO Program?

The Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program allows brand owners to protect their intellectual property on eBay.

Many brands restrict who is authorized to sell their products or use their brand names, trademarks, logos, and copyrighted content.

If a listing contains protected brand terms, eBay may:

Sell The Trend automatically scans the product title and description for brand names that are known to participate in the eBay VeRO program.

If a potential match is found, you’ll see a warning similar to:

This warning does not necessarily mean the product cannot be listed. It simply lets you know that the listing may require additional review.

If you are an authorized reseller for the brand, you can choose to continue with the listing.

If you are not an authorized reseller, we recommend:

Reviewing the product title and description.
Removing unnecessary brand references where appropriate.
Confirming that you have the right to sell the product on eBay before listing it.

You can choose to continue, but doing so is at your own risk.

If the listing violates eBay’s VeRO policies, eBay may remove the listing or take action against your seller account.
