Why Do Some AliExpress Prices Look Different Than What I See on Sell The Trend?

Modified on Wed, 21 May at 12:17 PM

At Sell The Trend, we aim to give you the most accurate and reliable pricing possible when sourcing products through AliExpress. Sometimes, you might notice a price difference between what’s shown on the AliExpress website and what appears inside the Sell The Trend platform. This article will explain exactly why that happens—and how to ensure you’re seeing the right price for your store setup.

1. Welcome Deal Pricing Doesn’t Reflect Real Ongoing Prices

If you’re seeing a lower price on AliExpress, especially in a screenshot or during your first few visits, it’s likely because you’re seeing a “Welcome Deal.”

  • This is a one-time promotional price offered to new users.

  • You’ll often see a “Welcome Deal” tag next to the price—this is your clue that the offer is temporary.

  • Once you complete a purchase using your AliExpress account, these welcome deal prices are no longer available.

That’s why Sell The Trend does not use this temporary pricing when pushing products to your store. we want to provide you with consistent, real-world pricing that reflects what you’ll actually pay moving forward.

2. The Real Price Shows Up During Push To Store

When you start the Push To Store process inside Sell The Trend, we’ll show you the current supplier price in the Fulfillment section.

This is the actual price you’ll be working with when:

  • Calculating your profit margins

  • Applying your pricing rules

  • Preparing for customer orders

You’ll see a clear supplier product price range that helps you make informed decisions before listing or selling the item.

3. Your Pricing Rules Use the Accurate Supplier Price

Sell The Trend’s pricing automation is based on the actual supplier price shown during product import, not the welcome deal.

So whether you’re using markup multipliers, fixed margins, or pricing rules by cost range, rest assured: your selling price is always based on the real, repeatable cost—not a one-time discount.

1. Currency Fluctuations Can Affect What You See

AliExpress dynamically adjusts prices depending on your country, local taxes, and currency settings—even if you’re viewing prices in USD.

For example:

  • You might see a product listed at $3.45 USD, but purchasing it from France may display a final price of $4.00 USD, based on local settings.

What matters most is the price shown during checkout—AliExpress will always show you the final amount you’re expected to pay before you confirm your purchase.

Final Note

Sell The Trend’s pricing integration is designed to reflect real-world, reliable costs, ensuring your store pricing and profits are accurate. Temporary or location-based discounts like Welcome Deals are great for personal shopping—but aren’t suitable for long-term product sourcing in your store.
