How to apply taxes to orders on SellShop

To apply taxes on orders, please go to SellShop settings. 




Click on Settings > Tax. Then finally click on the "Start Collecting Tax" button. 






Add your country/region for tax. 



After selecting your country, click on the edit button. In this case, we have selected the United States as our country.





Tax for the US can be set up in two ways, "Auto Tax" and "Manual Tax". Manual Tax is the simplest one and gives the user the most control over taxing. It is the ideal way the users should set up their tax for the US in our software. 


To set Manual Tax, click on the Manual Tax button and then click on "Use Default Tax Rate" to populate the form automatically with default tax rates and then override where necessary. 





Auto Tax is almost the same thing with the default values. The only difference is that you need to put the registration code from the state where you have registered with the taxes and that's it.



To set Auto Tax, click on the Add a state button. 




Then choose your state, enter your sales tax ID and click on Save button.
